The Cambridge Festival is Cambridge’s largest landmark annual event of in-person, online, and on-demand events that celebrate the world-leading research happening at the University of Cambridge. From pioneering science to pressing global challenges, it is a rare opportunity for the public to meet the researchers and thought-leaders shaping our future.

Running from 16 March to 2 April 2026, this year's festival spans over 350 events across disciplines. P2G is proud to be part of it, representing Nepal's circular economy story on an international stage.

The P2G Final Showcase on 19th March

The P2G Final Showcase invites the public to meet Nepal's circular economy pioneers and discover how four years of research and innovation turned Himalayan plastic waste into real opportunities: for the locals, by the locals, with the local waste. P2G collaborated with over 70 local innovators, mountain communities, passionate changemakers, and local governments to plant the seeds of plastic circularity, transforming waste into durable housing products and sustainable livelihoods.

This is the culmination of four years of research, co-creation, and community-driven innovation across the Himalayas.

What the Event Includes

Documentary Premiere

The journey of Plastic to Ghar comes to the screen, capturing how P2G empowered the local communities to create change themselves across the Himalayas. From the challenges in the Ree Village to the growth of KleanIt Upcyclers, the film documents the stories of P2G localised circular economy approach applied in Nepal.

Launch of the P2G Plastic Innovation Protocol and Manuals

An open-source document capturing four years of lessons from Nepal's circular economy journey will be introduced: P2G innovation process, technology manual and safety manual. They   will be made freely available for communities and innovators worldwide.

Panel Discussion

A panel discussion will be chaired by Prof. Steve Evans the principal investigator of P2G. The panels including Dr. Curie Park and Dr. Claire Barlow from Cambridge University; Pallab Shrestha from FabLab Nepal; Milan Bohara from KleanIt Upcyclers will share their thoughts on ‘Plastic Circularity and Sustainable Development’.

Upcycled Product Showcase & Auction

Business Incubtees Product Showcase

Paramendo will be showcasing the products they have been working on, from PP pellets shaped into phone stands to MLP boards pressed into durable building materials, each piece exploring new ways to give Himalayan plastic a second life.

KleanIt Upcyclers will be bringing their growing range of upcycled products to the festival: the Everst bench, coffee table, flower pots, coasters, combs, keyrings, and photo frames, all made with MLP, HDPE or PP waste collected across Nepal.
